FIRST POST
Okay, so I labored over the right way to explain it, with various analogies and pop culture reference, but it comes down to this: my other Tumblr represents my Ego, and this Tumblr represents my Id - and I’m sorry if that sounds heavy-handed… it’s not supposed to be.
I use my real name on my other Tumblr. I’m interested in turning it into a pretty music-intensive blog and possibly use it as supplemental material to anything I write professionally, or maybe if I end up doing a radio show this fall.
I really love Tumblr and I love my main Tumblr dearly, as I’ve had it for about two and a half years and have acquired a number of followers that I’m very satisfied with (there are a number of very quality people among them), and I intend to continue Going Places with that blog and putting myself out there.
But I want my anonymity back. I want to be able to drunkblog if I damn well please. I realized how much I censor myself recently and was very disappointed with behavior. I saw Titus Andronicus the other night and that line from Richard II stuck out to me as particularly relevant:
I will not deny my humanity
I’ll be rolling in it like a pig in feces
Because there’s no other integrity
In awaiting the demise of our species
So here it is: My Id, uncensored, just for you, because I love you, Tumblr.
Keep in mind that while I’m using my actual picture for the first little bit while I’m following everyone, it’s getting swapped out pretty soon and this will continue to technically be a semi-secret Tumblr. If you (for some reason?) have doubts about who I may or may not be, hit up the old Ask Box and I’ll confirm or deny.
